Redirect Map Generator
Paste your old and new URLs and get bulk 301 redirects in the format your host needs, with chains, loops and duplicates fixed for you.
How to Use the Redirect Map Generator
- Paste 1 redirect per line, old address first. A 2 column copy from a spreadsheet works.
- Add your domain so full URLs become paths.
- Choose your host's format and check the notes for duplicates and loops.
- Copy or download the rules and add them to your site.
Plan Redirects Before a Redesign
Every page that changes address needs a redirect from the old one, or the links and rankings it earned go to a 404. Export your current URLs from your sitemap or Search Console, match each one to its closest new page and paste the list here.
Redirect to the page that answers the same need. Sending everything to the homepage looks like a 404 to Google and confuses visitors.
What We Fix for You
If page A goes to B and B goes to C, we point A straight at C. We flag loops, pages that redirect to themselves and old addresses with 2 different targets. We also warn when a format can't match query strings, like ?p=12, so you can handle those another way.
Frequently Asked Questions
301 or 308?
Both are permanent and pass ranking signals. 301 is the most widely supported, so use it unless your platform recommends 308.
How long should I keep redirects?
At least a year, and longer for pages with links from other sites. They cost almost nothing to keep.
Can I test the redirects after?
Yes. Run a few old addresses through our redirect checker once they're live.
