Core Web Vitals Checker
See how fast a page loads for real visitors on mobile and desktop, whether it passes Google's Core Web Vitals and what to fix first.
How to Use the Core Web Vitals Checker
- Enter the page you want to test. Start with your homepage and your busiest service page.
- We run Google's PageSpeed Insights on mobile and desktop at the same time. It takes 20 to 40 seconds.
- Check the real visitor numbers first, then work through the biggest fixes from the lab test.
Real Visitors vs the Lab
The real visitor numbers come from Chrome users who loaded the page over the last 28 days, measured at the 75th percentile. That's what Google uses for Core Web Vitals in Search. The lab test is a single simulated load on a mid range phone, which is great for finding causes but can swing from run to run.
New or low traffic pages often have no real visitor data. In that case we show the site wide numbers if Google has them.
The 3 Numbers That Count
Largest Contentful Paint should be 2.5 seconds or less, Interaction to Next Paint 200 milliseconds or less and Cumulative Layout Shift 0.1 or less. Pass all 3 for real visitors and the page passes Core Web Vitals.
The fixes that move them most for small business sites are usually the same: compress and size the hero image, cut third party scripts like chat widgets and old tracking tags and set width and height on images so the page doesn't jump.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does page speed affect rankings?
Core Web Vitals are part of how Google judges page experience, but relevance matters far more. Speed matters most when a slow page loses visitors who'd otherwise call or buy.
Why is my mobile score so much lower?
The mobile test simulates a mid range phone on a slower connection, so heavy images and scripts cost far more there. Most of your visitors are probably on phones, so mobile is the number to work on.
Why does my score change each time?
Lab tests vary with server load and network conditions. Look at trends across a few runs and trust the real visitor data more.
